It's Just Not That Far

I needed milk on Saturday. My first instinct was to get in the car and drive to the store. Then I remembered that the store is less than a kilometer (a kilometer is less than a mile) away from my house. Which really isn't very far at all. So I walked. I need to learn to adjust my thinking here. I lived so long in a place where nothing was within walking distance. Now, it is. So I shall walk.

  1. yay for walking! I really think that is one of the most corruptive forces at work in the u.s., our un-walkable cities and towns. I remember the day that I would walk an hour there and back just to get a cold coke.

  2. It must be nice to be able to walk to the store. I think the girls and I would get run over if we walked to the store here. People drive so fast.
